Health & Well-being

Everyone deserves a chance to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Our work focuses on three key areas: nutrition, healthcare and sanitation, with special attention to under-served communities.

We strive to nourish young minds and bodies through targeted nutrition programmes, make quality healthcare accessible and promote clean, healthy environments via sanitation initiatives.

Nutrition

Good nutrition is the foundation for a healthy life and a bright future. We prioritise providing wholesome nourishment to children in under-served communities.

In partnership with Akshaya Patra, we provide nutritious mid-day meals to thousands of schoolchildren daily by supporting kitchen infrastructure and operations. We also collaborate with Seva Mandir to support Balwadis, which offer essential nutrition, daycare and preschool education for children aged 1 to 5, empowering mothers and caregivers.

Akshaya Patra: The foundation supports Akshaya Patra's crucial mission of providing midday meals to children in the MMR region. We helped establish the Bhiwandi kitchen and actively collaborate to ensure the smooth operation of both the Bhiwandi and Kalyan kitchens.

Seva Mandir, Udaipur: For FY 2024-25, we supported 10 full day Balwadis in Kherwara block impacting 254 children. Additionally, 195 mothers/caregivers were supported for their livelihood.

Healthcare

Quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege. Our support includes championing early detection and running awareness initiatives for critical diseases.

Tata Cancer Care, Assam: DMart Foundation supports Tata Trusts in enhancing cancer care in Assam. This partnership focuses on three key areas: equipping hospitals with essential equipment, supporting crucial early detection programmes to reach more people and providing vital patient assistance (treatment, transportation, accommodation) for those facing financial hardship.

Sanitation

Access to clean and hygienic toilets at public places has often been a challenge, especially at high footfall places like railways stations, public parks, bus stands, etc. We are working with the Central Railways, Mumbai Division to improve the standards of cleanliness in the daily lives of the masses by providing clean toilet facilities across select stations.

We upgraded the toilet blocks at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Ghatkopar stations. The work at the stations included more toilets for women and people with disabilities, ensuring a cleaner and more accessible experience for all commuters. We now continue to maintain the toilet facilities at CSMT, Byculla and Ghatkopar railway stations. The three stations are amongst the busiest railway stations in Mumbai with an average daily passenger footfall of 13 lakhs, 4 lakhs and 2.5 lakhs respectively.
