Public Private Partnership Schools

A good system of education with 21st century skills opens doors for a child to face life’s challenges without inhibitions and progress towards a better future. DMart Foundation collaborates with Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to efficiently manage Public Private Partnership (PPP) schools.

Need for PPP schools

Recognising the growing demand for English medium education, DMart Foundation partnered with Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) to increase access to quality government-run English medium schools.

An important aspect of providing a wholesome learning experience for children is to ensure that there are no learning gaps. Under the PPP Model, DMart Foundation has adopted four government schools where the focus is on foundational literacy and numeracy for children in their early years of schooling. As the students move to the higher grades, holistic learning opportunities are provided which includes exposure to sports, art and science. This exposure is extremely essential for the children going to government schools as opportunities outside the school premises are limited and not easily accessible. Through all these inputs and consistent efforts, it is ensured that the child is being nurtured in a way where the emotional, social, physical and creative development is given as much importance as the development of academic abilities.

Implementing the PPP Model schools

  • Increased government outreach of English medium education which ensures expanded access to quality English medium education for TMC students.
  • To ensure quality attention, the student-teacher ratio is kept at 40:1 in every class.
  • A separate teaching track has been implemented to prepare students willing to take the State Scholarship exams.
  • Holistic development ensures the programme goes beyond academics, fostering co-curricular activities and student well-being.
  • Reading, Digital Literacy, Parent Engagement, Sports For All and Swachh School Abhiyaan programmes have been implemented in the PPP schools to impart holistic education.

Notable progress

  • Improved student performance with 100% pass rates in Grade 10 SSC exams has been achieved consistently. In the academic year 2024-25, more than 20% students passed the exams with distinction (scored more than 75%).
  • Sports programmes led to over 50 students participating in District Level Sports and 28 students winning medals.
  • 6 girl students from Kisan Nagar School receiving the Udayaan Shalini Fellowship.
